Zetachain developers announced SOLANA support, which made this network the first 1st public blockchain (L1), which allows you to develop applications with native integration of Bitcoin, Ethereum, Base and Solana. Now developers can create universal decentralized applications that work with SOL, SPL tokens and assets of other chains, excluding the need to use bridges and “wraps”.

The integration of SOLANA into the Zetachain system is faced with a number of technical difficulties. Firstly, the model of accounts, authentication and compilation of smart contracts is significantly different from the analogues used on the EVM-compatible chains. Secondly, the differences in the schemes of transaction signatures between SOLANA and Zetachain have also complicated the integration process.

To solve the 1st problem, the developers used the abstraction of interaction with blockchains. This allowed universal applications to work equally with assets on different networks, be it Ethereum, Solana or other chains.

To solve the 2nd problem, the Gateway Contract was created, which ensures the validation of ECDSA signatures from Zetachain TSS addresses. Additional security mechanisms, such as nonsense, chain identifiers and systems systems, have also been introduced. They are needed to prevent attacks of transaction reproduction.

The integration of SOLANA makes Zetachain a unique platform for building decentralized applications covering several networks. Now developers can create universal applications. Zetachain offers a simple and universal way to combine liquidity, ecosystems and users from different blockchains. The integration of Solana opens up new opportunities for creating decentralized solutions.
