Scamsniffer announced thefts of scammers in the amount of $ 5.32 million in February 2025

SCAMSNIFFER security researchers have published another security report. They noted that the data showed user losses of $ 5.32 million at 7.44 thousand victims. For comparison, in January $ 10.25 million and 9.22 thousand victims were recorded. The fall amounted to 48%, which became the third in a row a decrease in values.

The greatest losses are associated with targeted substitution. Thanks to this method, the attackers managed to steal $ 771 thousand in ETH. The second largest source of damage was the vulnerability using permits (permit) per $ 611 thousand. In addition, BSC chain users lost $ 610 thousand due to unconfirmed phishing spacers.

Experts note that similar figures in December 2024 were significantly higher and reached $ 23.58 million. Despite the obvious tendency to a decrease, experts do not advise the owners of digital assets to lose vigilance. Attacks continue to evolve, and scammers find new ways to deceive gullible users.

Scamsniffer emphasizes that the main goal of criminals is to make victims confirm non -obvious permits for the transaction. Users often do not check the signatures, which simplifies the criminals access to their digital means. A reasonable approach to private keys and regular tests of the wallet can prevent such risks.

Representatives of the SCAMSNIFFER project recommend setting a specialized expansion and attentive to any transactions. The timely revocation of unused permits is one of the effective ways of protection. Forecasts indicate that with proper care and competent actions, the level of losses will be able to be kept at a lower level. Users should also improve their knowledge about possible methods of attack on their digital assets.
