The rates of digital coins can change frequently and quickly under the influence of a number of factors: positive and negative events in the market, in the global economy, as well as decisions of regulators. The range of price fluctuations over a certain period of time is called volatility. This indicator is used to determine the risk associated with a particular cryptocurrency. The lower the volatility, the safer it is to invest in the asset.
An indicator of less than 2% is considered low, 2-5% – average, 5-10% – high. Volatility of 10-20% or more carries very high and extreme levels of risk. For traders, this is also an opportunity to get a good profit from intraday and medium-term transactions. Investors use historical asset volatility to diversify their portfolio.
In November 2024, many cryptocurrencies renewed their price highs following Bitcoin. At the same time, the volatility of the flagship was only 6.2%. The growth of other coins from the top 100 by capitalization was accompanied by stronger price fluctuations.
Such price fluctuations provide good opportunities for short-term cryptocurrency trading. In November, the total volume of transactions with the token on exchanges increased to $294.12 million. Capitalization Raydium increased to $1.21 billion. This allowed the asset to rise to 81st place in the global ranking.
The main meme coin was in second place in terms of volatility Dogecoin (DOGE). In November, the dynamics of price fluctuations of the asset are estimated at 24.89%. In the last 24 hours alone, DOGE has risen in price by 30.6%. The weekly growth was 119.23%.
In this bullish run, the cryptocurrency has managed to regain over 50% of the ATH achieved in May 2021 and continues to strive for new highs. Against the backdrop of new successes, trading activity on exchanges increased significantly – up to $23 billion. DOGE’s market capitalization increased to $54.73 billion.
The third place among the most volatile cryptocurrencies in November is Cronos (CRO) with an indicator of 20.54%. Over the past 24 hours, the token price has fluctuated in the range of $0.15-0.22, providing many opportunities for intraday transactions. Cronos trading volume increased significantly to 1.02 billion per day.
In just one week, the price of Cronos increased by 135.68%, returning to the values of May 2022. The gap with ATH has narrowed to 82.2%. The market capitalization of the asset reached $4.72 billion, which allowed it to take 30th place in the world ranking.
The top 5 most volatile coins in November also included:
