Today an important event took place for the entire cryptocurrency market, as the main digital coin crossed the 6-digit mark of $100 thousand. The head of Ark Invest, Cathie Wood, commented on this situation. According to her, in the long term, Bitcoin will continue to actively increase its position. The entrepreneur also compared the asset to gold. Currently, the capitalization of the precious metal is estimated at approximately $18 trillion, while for Bitcoin it is about $2 trillion. This suggests that the main digital coin still has room to maneuver in the context of market capitalization growth.
Wood also emphasized that the concept of Bitcoin is more multifaceted compared to gold. The flagship of the crypto market is a global idea that promotes the concept of a borderless economy and financial justice. Also, the head of Ark Invest remained committed to her earlier forecasts, when she noted that in the future Bitcoin quotes would reach $1 million.
It should also be noted that the world famous Amazon Corporation took about 29 years before it reached a capitalization of $2 trillion. The flagship crypto asset has made it this far in just 16 years. It is also noteworthy that it took Apple 42 years to achieve a capitalization of $2 trillion. It is worth considering that, according to the CompaniesMarketCap rating, bitcoin remains firmly in the top 10 most valuable global assets.
The flagship of the crypto market confidently outperformed silver and the Saudi Arabian oil producing company Saudi Aramco in this context. At the same time, the main digital coin lacks just over $100 million to catch up with Alphabet Corporation (Google) in capitalization.
Currently, Bitcoin accounts for almost 53% of the entire cryptocurrency market. The total capitalization of all digital assets is close to $4 trillion.
