Phala Network, created on the basis of Polkadot, launched the new Rollup 2 level (Layer 2) for Ethereum. The project was implemented in conjunction with the developers of Succinct Labs and Conduit. This solution uses the innovative OP SUCCINCT technology, which combines the advantages of optimistic and Zero-KnowLEDGE (ZK) provisions.
The OP SUCCINCT technology has been developed by Succinct Labs to increase the efficiency of optimistic Rollup. Its integration can improve the scalability and safety of solutions built on OP Stack. The launch was simplified due to the use of the Rollup-AS-A-Service platform from Conduit.
This step allows Phala Network to go beyond the Polkadot parachans ecosystem and become part of the Ethereum Layer 2 constantly growing world. According to 2024, the number of Rollup solutions in Ethereum exceeded 100, which is 3 times more than the end of 2023.
Phala is known for cryptographic computational solutions and support for applications in the field of decentralized calculations and artificial intelligence. The basis of the platform was the Trusted Execution Environments (TEES) technology, which provides safe code execution. This allows you to develop confidential smart contracts for use in decentralized applications, including AI-agents.
One of the latest Phala developments was the joint work with the AI16Z platform to create Eliza’s Tee. This system integrates TEE into multicomponent Eliza structures, improving the safety and confidentiality of the interactions between the AI-agents.
